Going Green At Paddock House Farm Holiday Cottages
Paddock House Farm Holiday Cottages is currently under going a major rethink in how the business is run in saving our environment.
This commitment will be achieved through Installing Solar Panels and Biomas Heating. The aim is to generate as much green energy as possible via Solar Panels and Biomass Boilers. The aim is bring our carbon footprint down. Currently all the cottages and farmhouse use Oil fired boilers for the central heating and hot water.
We are currently looking in to installing Solar Panels for the electric and summer heating of the hot water to all the Holiday Cottages and the main farmhouse. We are also looking at removing the 5 large oil boilers that currently burn 1000′s of litres of oil every month to a single boiler burning renewable energy Biomass pellets. These pellets have a carbon footprint of neutral. A massive saving against our environment. This involves a large investment in the business but will be worth as we will be saving our planet.
We have submitted the applications to request the permission’s to go ahead with the development with the Peak District National Park. Hoping for a quick decision. The works will involve a minimal amount of disruption to the business most of the works will be in the farmhouse and on some of the roof’s of the cottages. Please rest assured that any works will be done were possible when the cottage is empty.
We aim to provide the most efficient, cost effective service whilst ensuring that we provide a safe working environment and minimising our environmental impacts.
You can also do you bit to help the environment when on your holiday by:
• Reducing Water use
• Reducing Energy use
• Reducing Waste
We have also improved the waste recycling. There are now large bins for recycling Paper, Food Waste, Cardboard, Plastic, Metals, and most of your household waste. Within the cottage you will find full details of what and how to recycle your waste. Please do your bit to save the environment.
